What happens when a supremely talented, professional quality basketball player takes on a bunch of guys who don’t top six-feet? Ben Simmons traveled to Melbourne, Australia to give us the answer.
To say that he dominated the competition is putting it mildly. To say that is putting it mildly, is putting it mildly. Simmons looked like a man among boys. Worse, he looked like an NBA player among guys who never made it past JV.
If there is anything to be gleaned from Ben Simmons highlight reel, it’s that his foot looks fine. The former first overall pick out of LSU missed his entire rookie season with a foot fracture, and will be making his debut this year.
The 76ers are counting on massive contributions from him this season. While this was likely nothing more than a fun, warmup game for him, it has to be encouraging for Philly basketball fans. Disregard the competition and look at how Simmons looks moving up and down the floor.
He won’t be clowning on guys like this in the NBA, but he appears ready to compete at the highest level.
