Did Floyd Mayweather & Paulie Malignaggi Set Conor McGregor Up?

Did Floyd Mayweather and Paulie Malignaggi team up con Conor McGregor ahead of the highly-anticipated “Money Fight” on Saturday night? That’s a question many are left asking after a video from Mayweather’s final pre-fight workout surfaced.
In the video, Mayweather and Malignaggi, who spent time at McGregor’s training camp as a sparring partner before bad blood caused a split, can be seen chumming it up.
Mayweather acknowledges Malignaggi as his “friend,” while later saying they were going to “talk about strategy.”

“Oh don’t worry. Me and Paulie are gonna stay at the house and talk about strategy, we’re gonna talk about everything,” Mayweather said. “Don’t you worry. Paulie, thank you for going over there like I asked you to do. And he made it look good when he grabbed you and threw you down. That was a good one. That was a good one.

“Good work! We got him.”

Of course, whether the two men actually were in cahoots is unknown, but it is some last-minute hype and head games that will generate headlines just over 24 hours ahead of the fight.
And regardless of whether Malignaggi was working on behalf of Mayweather all of the time, Showtime needs to pull him from the pay-per-view broadcast because his objectivity has become a clear issue.
