Miss North Dakota Cara Mund: Hottest Photos Of Miss America 2018

On Sunday night, Miss North Dakota Cara Mund earned the honor of being named Miss America 2018.

She was the first-ever Miss North Dakota to win the coveted crown.

The 23-year-old Mund beat out the rest of the 50 competitors in the competition to take the crown from outgoing Miss America Savvy Shields. For Mund, just making Miss America and getting past the top ten was an item on her bucket list, she said during the competition.

Going on to win, her dream came true.

The highlights of Mund’s night were a jazz dance routine to Michael Jackson’s hit “The Way You Make Me Feel,” but what really got social media buzzing were her comments on President Donald Trump’s decision to pull out of the Paris Accord which and his poor decisions regarding climate change.

“I do believe it’s a bad decision,” Mund said. “Once we reject that, we take ourselves out of the negotiation table and that’s something that we really need to keep in mind. There is evidence that climate change is existing. So whether you believe it or not, we need to be at that table, and I think it’s just a bad decision on behalf of the United States.”

Mund went on to defeat first runner-up Miss Missouri Jennifer Davis, second runner-up Miss New Jersey Kaitlyn Shoeffel, thid runner-up Miss District of Columbia Briana Kinsey, and fourth runner-up Miss Texas Morgana Wood, who also laid into Trump during the pageant.

Congratulations to Mund on the big win.
