Hawaii football player Hunter Hughes began the season as a walk-on.
However, when the Rainbow Warriors return to the field on Saturday night against Wyoming, the back up quarterback will be a full scholarship player.
On Wednesday night during a WWE Live event in Honolulu, Hughes entered the ring with WWE SmackDown Live Tag Team Champions The New Day for a brief segment.
During that segment, it was announced that Hughes had received his full ride.
Check out the awesome video below:

Videos of walk-ons receiving scholarship always bring a smile to people’s faces and often times can be emotional, but this time around thanks to some WWE stars, there was added flair and entertainment. This one is going to be tough to top.
