VIDEO: Memphis' JJ Russell Stretchered Off Field After Huge Hit

Memphis has played the No. 25 UCLA Bruins tooth-and-nail through the entire first half. But going into the locker room, they’ll have the well-being of their teammate JJ Russell on their mind.
Following a Memphis Tigers score, the ensuing kickoff resulted in a big hit that left JJ Russell motionless on the turf for several minutes after the play ended.
He was unable to walk off the field under his own power and had to be carted off.

To make matters worse, Russell had to have several devices applied to his neck to keep it from moving. Those attending him on the field noticeably started to scramble at a pace after examining him for a few moments.
Fortunately, he was still moving his legs slowly while laying on the turf.
Both teams were on a knee throughout the entire ordeal. The stadium was mostly quiet in a way that was indicative of the severity of the injury.
Nothing is known of Russell’s injury as of now, but everyone is obviously hoping for the best. You hate to see things like this.
