College GameDay took its set to the biggest stage this week. Operating out of Times Square in NYC, the cast and crew came across a familiar face that it wasn’t expecting to see. Sam Ponder, who made her name in the industry on College GameDay stage was seen “wandering the streets” of Times Square with her daughter, Scout.
She appeared reluctant, but happy to be back on the show.
Of course, Scout was the real star, stealing the spotlight and having fans of her own proudly displaying their GameDay signs.

Ponder has since graduated and is hosting the Sunday NFL Countdown show on ESPN.
In a very literal sense, she graduated from the college show and is now in the pros.

How much of this was actually a surprise, and how much of it was staged can only be known by those in the know. The odds of happening upon the former host of a show in one of the most densely populated areas, in one of the most densely populated cities in the world can’t be very high.
Either way, it was good to see Ponder back on the GameDay stage, this time with the next generation of pregame sports show hosting in-tow.
