UCF Football Dubs Homecoming 'The Space Game'

The UCF football program will pay tribute to its roots for its homecoming game with one of the more unique looking patches you’ll see anywhere his college football season.
They’ve dubbed homecoming “The Space Game” to pay homage to their ties to the space program at the nearby Kennedy Space Center and Cape Canaveral Air Force Station.

The UCF Knights were originally founded as Florida Technological University, and focused primarily on engineering and technology. As the school grew and began to include other areas of study, the became the University of Central Florida.
Their homecoming game is scheduled for October 14 against the East Carolina Pirates.
The full uniform combination that UCF will be wearing is yet to be announced, though it is expected to reflect the space them as well. If it’s any clue, though, fans are already being encouraged to wear black with white shirts to give the illusion of stars in the night sky.
