The Colby Covington – Fabricio Werdum incident is getting more interesting.
On Wednesday night, the two men were involved in an altercation outside of the fighter hotel in Sydney, Australia. Werdum was caught on camera throwing a boomerang at Covington’s head, but the welterweight also claims he was punched by the Brazilian.
In a statement to MMA Fighting, Covington has since said he plans to press charges.
“He f*cked up,” Covington said. “There’s video and I speak the truth. He will be exposed soon, probably end up in Australia prison … He wrote a check his ass can’t cash. He’s on video so all his lies will be told soon.”

According to Werdum, he slapped Covington’s phone out of his hand after being called a racial slur. Werdum claims he was then kicked by Covington before the now viral boomerang toss.
We’ll have to see if anything more comes out of this.
As for the UFC, they issued the following statement regarding the matter.
“UFC was made aware of the altercation between Fabricio Werdum and Colby Covington at the organization’s host hotel in Sydney, Australia,” the statement said. “The organization will conduct a full investigation to determine if the Athlete Conduct Policy was violated before taking any further action on this matter.”
