Oregon Football Offers Willie Taggart New Deal Amid Florida State Rumors

Reports have been swirling that Oregon football coach Willie Taggart is being eyed as a potential candidate at Florida State if longtime head coach Jimbo Fisher bolts Tallahassee.
With that news swirling, the Ducks have acted swiftly and are trying to keep Taggart in Eugene.
According to a report from Andy Staples of Sports Illustrated, Oregon has offered Taggart a new deal that will raise his salary to $20 million over five seasons. The deal would serve as a one-year extension on top of the deal Taggart signed a year ago when he became the new Ducks head coach.
In Taggart’s first year leading the Ducks, Oregon finished with a 7-5 record and will now look forward to learning which bowl they will participate in.
Florida State, meanwhile, remains in limbo as they wait to learn whether Fisher will be jumping ship to the Texas A&M Aggies.
