National Championship 2018: Donald Trump Plans To Attend

President Donald Trump is reportedly planning to attend the 2018 College Football Playoff National Championship between the No. 4 Alabama Crimson Tide and No. 3 Georgia Bulldogs.
According to a report from the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the president will be hosted by Georgia native Nick Ayers, who is the chief of staff for Vice President Mike Pence, and his wife Jamie Ayers. First Lady Melania Trump is also expected to attend.
The National Championship takes place on Monday, Jan.8 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.
Alabama and Georgia are two states that Trump won during the 2016 presidential election. Trump carried Alabama, one of the deepest red states in the country, by nearly 30 points while carrying Georgia by five.
Earlier this week, White House spokeswoman Sarah Huckabee Sanders congratulated both football programs “from two great states, both in the heart of Trump country” at her daily press briefing.
Kickoff between the Crimson Tide and Bulldogs is set for 8:00 p.m. ET on ESPN.
