UPDATE: After Monday night’s national championship, Nick Saban advanced his record against former assistants to a perfect 12-0.
Alabama football coach Nick Saban has dominated the college football world since taking over as head coach of the Crimson Tide in 2017.
The 66-year-old coach brought one national championship with him from his days at LSU, before leading Alabama to four national titles and establishing the Crimson Tide as a perennial contender.
On Monday night, Saban will be looking for his sixth championship as a head coach.
But even if he doesn’t secure the victory, Saban will still have more national championship victories than any other active FBS coach and by a large margin.
In fact, if you take every other active FBS coach combined, they equal Saban’s number.
Cork Gaines of Business Insider punched the numbers and it is a staggering statistic that truly shows Saban’s dominance.
National championships:
Nick Saban 5
Every other active FBS coach combined 5(Meyer 3, Dabo 1, Jimbo 1)
