Baylor QB Seth Russell cleared to return to action

Baylor quarterback Seth Russell has been cleared to return to the field after breaking a bone in his neck during the 2015 season. Russell announced the good news on his Instagram.

Russell was doing an excellent job succeeding Bryce Petty this past season, completing 59.5 percent of his passes for 2,104 yards and 29 touchdowns in just seven games before getting hurt. He was replaced by Jarrett Stidham, who then injured his back and ankle and was replaced by Chris Johnson. Baylor finished 10-3 (6-3 Big 12) and went on to defeat North Carolina in the Russell Athletic Bowl.

Now that the Bears’ fearless leader in Russell is back on the field, chances are that Baylor will once again be in the Big 12 and College Football Playoff hunt in 2016.
