Baylor RB Devin Chafin suspended following marijuana arrest

Baylor running back Devin Chafin has been suspended from the team indefinitely following his arrest in Oklahoma for marijuana possession Friday morning. News of Chafin’s arrest was posted to Twitter by Jessica Morrey of Waco NBC affiliate KCEN.

Chafin and a friend were stopped on an Oklahoma highway and found to be in possession of marijuana and marijuana candy that had been purchased in Colorado. Given how the drug is not legal in Oklahoma the way it is in Colorado, both were arrested.

A former two-star recruit from the Wichita Falls area, Chafin appeared in 10 games for Baylor in 2015 and rushed for 583 yards and nine touchdowns. In his three seasons with the Bears, he has 1,261 yards and 21 touchdowns, primarily being featured as a short yardage/change of pace back.

Just what happens next for Devin Chafin remains to be seen, but odds are greater than none that this suspension will at least last through the spring. Be sure to stay tuned to Campus Sports for further updates on this story!
