Baylor University will not release full Pepper Hamilton report

According to Baylor University interim president David Garland, the school will not be releasing the Pepper Hamilton report in its entirety. The report detailed the university’s mishandling of multiple sexual assault allegations.

Garland penned a letter to the Baylor Nation stating the Findings of Facts and Recommendations which was previously published was an accurate representations of the full report.

“We have entered a new season in the life of Baylor University. It is a season that calls for clarity, compassion and collective action as a Christian academic community and as a body of Baylor alumni that spans multiple generations, often within individual families,” he wrote.

“It is a season that calls for Baylor to stand together and speak as one voice, resolute in our shared commitment to student welfare and safety and to our institutional values.”

Baylor has a long way to go before they put the sexual assault scandal behind them, if they ever do. It’s good to see that Garland is working hard to change the culture at Baylor, and that he realizes the long road ahead.

However, if he really wants to regain the faith of everyone who supports the university, he should probably provide a full disclosure of the report.
