Bellator’s Jordan Parsons dies at 25 after hit-and-run

Promising Bellator MMA featherweight prospect Jordan Parsons tragically passed away Wednesday afternoon following injuries suffered in a hit-and-run accident in Florida early Sunday morning. Parsons was just 25 years old.

Bellator officials confirmed Parsons’ death in a statement to the media.

“It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of a dear member of the Bellator family, Jordan Parsons,” Bellator President Scott Coker said.

“Jordan was an exceptional athlete and a rising star in the sport. But more importantly, he was an exceptional young man. Jordan was hard-working, dedicated, intelligent, and a pleasure to be around. He represented all the reasons we love this sport. It is a terribly tragic loss and our thoughts and prayers go out to his family, friends, and teammates.”

Parsons, who went 2-1 in Bellator, had a professional mixed martial arts record of 11-2.

The hit-and-run accident took place around 12:30 a.m. on Sunday, May 1. Police are looking for a a 2012 or 2013 Range Rover Sport. that with damage to its left side.
