Buffalo Bills make offer to Reggie Bush, RB in no rush to accept

The Buffalo Bills’ backfield beyond starting LeSean McCoy is in disarray, especially after primary backup Karlos Williams was hit with a four-game suspension for violating NFL Policy and Program for Substances of Abuse earlier this month. This has led to them offering a contract to former San Francisco 49ers running back Reggie Bush.

In addition, rookie and third-string RB Jonathan Williams is awaiting the league’s response to suspicions of him driving while intoxicated last week.

Following the Williams’ suspension, which was coupled with 2016 draft pick Jonathan Williams being arrested for DWI last week, CBS NFL Insider Jason LaCanfora said he’d be surprised if the Bills didn’t reach out to Bush for some help.

NFL Media senior analyst Ian Rapoport reported on Monday Bush was weighing his options, in no rush to make a final decision.

Reggie Bush suffered a gruesome tear of his left meniscus on Nov. 1 after slipping on the concrete ring surrounding the field at Edward Jones Dome ahead of a match-up against the St. Louis Rams.

The former USC Trojan will look to get his career back on path this upcoming season after recording 47 total yards in five games for the 49ers in 2015.
