Connor Cook’s father is a loose cannon, may have hurt son’s draft stock

In today’s bizarre news, we get to introduce the blogosphere to the father of former Michigan State Spartans quarterback Connor Cook.

During the 2016 NFL Draft last weekend, Cook was a projected Day 2 pick. However, he mysteriously fell down draft boards and was not selected until the fourth round on Day 3 as the sixth quarterback selected.

Outside of some concerns about Cook not being a captain on the team, there didn’t seem to be much of a reason for Cook’s slide.

Well, that is until now.

Detroit Sports Rag‘s Jess Moss shared a series of messages from the Twitter account of Cook’s father. The tweets read more like the social media stream of a rowdy businessman/reality TV star turned politician than a reasonable man, and there is some believe that the messages could have been a factor in Cook’s slide.

The tweets are all over the place, with one common theme: they’re offensive.

Here is just a taste of what Cook’s father, Chris, had to offer:

Further examination of Cook’s profile shows that Chris Cook may actually just be Donald Trump.

Of course, after the tweets began going viral, they started getting deleted.

We may never know whether Connor Cook’s father negatively impacted his draft stock, but it surely couldn’t have helped. After all, NFL scouts turn over every leaf when researching the prospects.
