Could Dak Prescott be the next Russell Wilson?

Mississippi State quarterback Dak Prescott is one of the more intriguing names in this year’s draft class, with his dual threat abilities splitting opinions right down the middle. Some think he can be an underrated mid-round stud, and others don’t think he’ll make an impact in the NFL.

If one were to ask Bleacher Report’s Matt Miller, however, Prescott’s skill set is so impressive that he is rocketing up draft boards while also being compared to Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson.

Looking at Prescott’s stats from his college days, that comparison isn’t far off. A former three-star recruit from the Shreveport, Louisiana area, Prescott completed 62.8 percent of his passes for 9,376 yards and 70 touchdowns in four years in Starkville while running for 2,521 yards and 41 scores on the ground. In terms of dual-threat skills, the comparison to Wilson is certainly valid.

The only real difference between the two is that Wilson is listed at 5-foot-11, 2016 pounds, while Prescott is a bit bigger at 6-foot-2, 230 pounds.

Just how much that comparison holds will depend on Prescott’s showing at the NFL Scouting Combine this week, but stay tuned to Campus Sports for any further updates on his draft stock!
