Dan Mullen doesn’t see Jonathan Simmons decision coming soon

Jonathan Simmons is generating all sorts of talk before he steps foot onto the Mississippi State campus, problem is that it’s not for anything good.

While Simmons is a very talented defensive end recruit, ranked no. 15 in Rivals’ Class of 2016 rankings, it’s the trouble he’s landed himself in after getting caught on camera putting hands on a woman that is getting his name in the papers. Consequentially he’s been charged with assault and disturbing the peace and released a video apologizing for his actions.

Bulldogs head coach Dan Mullen somewhat addressed the situation Saturday, all though he gave very little details.

“I’ll let you know. We’re going to evaluate it,” Mullen told the Jackson Clarion-Ledger. “I don’t expect anything anytime in the near future.”

Mullen added that he spoke about the situation with the team, but did not give any more details other than that.

The Mississippi State Code of Conduct lists simple assault as a reason for punishment from the university, but applies only to current students — which Simmons is not.
