DeAndre Hopkins believes Texans are best team in AFC South

The Houston Texans have made some serious improvements this offseason, giving star wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins a capable quarterback in Brock Osweiler and some help on the outside with the additions of Braxton Miller and Will Fuller.

Houston also signed a talented running back in Lamar Miller, so the re-tooled offense should have plenty of success in 2016.

Add in the best defensive player in the NFL, and the Texans look like a team trending in the right direction. Hopkins certainly seems that is the case.

In a recent interview, Hopkins revealed his belief that the Texans are the best team in the AFC South and that they should be on their way to a second straight divisional title.

“I feel like we’ve earned that title to be the team to beat in the AFC South,” Hopkins said, via theHouston Chronicle. “When I got here, it was the Colts. We finally [got] over that hump. Hopefully, we can continue to be the team to beat.”

As long as all of the new additions play up to their potential, the Texans are going to be a very explosive team in 2016. Hopkins saying they are the team to beat is not a stretch by any means.

Perhaps the biggest surprise in the AFC South is that the Indianapolis Colts may not be Houston’s toughest competition. That honor may belong to the Jacksonville Jaguars, who like Houston, have vastly improved on paper.
