Ex-Chargers, Jets DB Antonio Cromartie leaning towards retirement

Antonio Cromartie is heading into what would be his eleventh season in the NFL this year, but it looks like his career could be coming to an end. Being unsigned going into August and nagging hip problems have led to the veteran possibly hanging up the cleats for good very soon.

It was reported by NFL Media senior analyst Ian Rapoport that Cromartie could be looking to end his career very soon. This comes after he had one of the worst seasons of his career with the New York Jets last year.

Antonio Cromartie was drafted by the San Diego Chargers in the first round of the 2006 NFL Draft and spent his first four seasons with the team. He then signed with the Jets and played with them for five of the next six years.

He recorded 15 interceptions and 42 pass deflections in four seasons with the Chargers. He had a decent run with the Jets as well, recording 13 interceptions and 64 pass deflections in five seasons, while recording three interceptions with the Arizona Cardinals in 2014.
