Floyd Mayweather Sr. hospitalized in Las Vegas

Floyd Mayweather Sr., father to undefeated boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr., was reportedly rushed to a hospital in Las Vegas Thursday morning. Luckily, he seems to be in good and stable condition at this point.

TMZ Sports reported that he had to be taken away from a coffee shop in downtown Vegas around 7 a.m. on Thursday. It only seems to have been dehydration on the part of Mayweather Sr. and he is expected to be released today and won’t have to stay overnight.

During his days in the ring, Floyd Mayweather Sr. was a pretty good boxer himself. He was 28-6-1 with 17 total knockouts during his career, which ended during the late 1980s. His most notable fight came in 1978 when he faced off against Sugar Ray Leonard. Following his career, he became a notable trainer in the combat sports world.

Campus Sports would like to wish him a quick and full recovery.
