Former 5-star Oregon RB Thomas Tyner retires at age 21

In what comes as a bit of a surprise, Oregon Ducks running back Thomas Tyner has announced his decision to retire from football at 21 years old. Tyner, who was the No. 1 running back in the nation in the Class of 2013, sat out last season with a shoulder injury.

Throughout his brief collegiate career, Tyner racked up 1,284 yards and 14 touchdowns.

Tyner released a brief, heartfelt message on social media after announcing his decision to move on. For the former Duck, it’s time to focus on school.
