Harvey Perlman takes shot at Bo Pelini in final address

Outgoing University of Nebraska chancellor Harvey Perlman gave his final address on Friday and took a shot at former Huskers football coach Bo Pelini while doing so, per Omaha.com.

“I’m not going to do a Bo Pelini,” Perlman said as his audience laughed.

“Do you know what a Bo Pelini is?” Perlman continued. “It is defined in the urban dictionary as an expletive-laced rant expressing outrage on leaving a position you didn’t want anyway. Not going to do it.”

Perlman was clearly referencing the expletive-laden rant that Pelini went on after he was fired towards the end of the 2014 season, having gone 67-27 in seven seasons but with a bowl record of only 2-3. Pelini was succeeded by longtime Oregon State coach Mike Riley, who limped to a 6-7 (3-5 Big Ten) finish his first season in Lincoln, though the Huskers did manage a key upset win over Michigan State and won the Foster Farms Bowl against UCLA.

It just goes to show you, ladies and gentlemen. When leaving a job, don’t burn your bridges because anything negative you have to say about your employer can come right back at you from them.
