Jags LB Dan Skuta arrested on misdemeanor battery charges

The Jacksonville Jaguars seem to be on the rise in the AFC and could compete for a division title and playoff spot this year. However, they could get affected by linebacker Dan Skuta being arrested earlier this month.

It was reported by the National Football Post‘s Aaron Wilson on Monday that Skuta was arrested on June 19 for misdemeanor battery. He was released on $500 bond and it doesn’t look like he will face any further charges.

The Jaguars released a statement saying they were aware of the situation and they have been speaking with the linebacker throughout the process.

“The Jaguars are aware of the situation involving linebacker Dan Skuta and are currently gathering more information,” the team said in the statement. “The team has been in constant communication with Dan through this process in its entirety. No further comment can be made at this time.”

Dan Skuta signed a deal worth $20 million deal last year with the Jaguars. He made eight starts and recorded 31 tackles and two sacks on the year.
