Jarran Reed agrees to terms with Seahawks

The Seattle Seahawks have begun signing members of their newest draft class. Among these players are defensive tackle Jarran Reed. Reed was picked up by the team in the second round of the 2016 NFL draft, making him the 49th selection overall.

As of Thursday, the former Alabama player’s agents have stated that Reed is now under contract for the Seahawks with a four-year rookie deal.

If Reed turns out to be all that the Seahawks hope he is, he will fill the hole left by the loss of nose tackle Brandon Mebane. In Tuscaloosa, Reed showed that he was capable of playing well against the ground game, which is just what the Seahawks need from him.

The nine other players that the Seahawks added to the roster in this year’s draft are expected to be under contract in the near future as well, before rookie minicamp comes to a close this week.
