Kris Jenkins surprised brother Nate Britt at game last night

Villanova forward Kris Jenkins was back in Philadelphia following his team’s victory over No. 1 Kansas in the Elite Eight in Louisville Saturday night, so it was only right that he take the time to make the trip to the Wells Fargo Center and watch his brother and North Carolina reserve guard Nate Britt play for a spot in the Final Four.

Per Rob Dauster of NBC Sports, Britt was quite surprised to see Jenkins sitting right behind the Tar Heels’ bench.

“I looked over in warmups and I only saw my parents,” Britt said. “But I knew my sister was coming so I was like, ‘I don’t see my sister, she has to be here somewhere.’ When we were doing the introductions, the starting five, I saw him sitting there and I was like, ‘Whoa, Kris is here!’”

Jenkins and Britt’s families have known one another since 2004, with both players having played on the same D.C. Assault AAU team, and Jenkins’ mother, Felicia, had an idea as her son got older and his grades started slipping, thus leading him to hang out with, as Dauster put it, “the wrong crowd.”

That idea was Jenkins moving from his hometown of Columbia, South Carolina up to Upper Marlboro, Maryland, where he would move in with the Britts. The rest, as they say, is history.

And now Jenkins and Britt are in a position to be playing for a national championship, and that may mean playing against each other. Villanova has a date with Buddy Hield and No. 2 Oklahoma on Saturday, while North Carolina will take on a red-hot Syracuse team.

No matter how you spin it, regardless of if either team wins, the support these two have for one another is heartwarming and should be followed closely over the course of the week.
