Les Miles goes nuts after 2017 QB commits

The recruiting game can be emotional in college football, and Les Miles can attest to that after a recent experience involving a visit from three-star quarterback Myles Brennan, who currently attends Mississippi’s Saint Stanislaus High School.

Speaking to Patrick Ochs of The Sun Herald, Brennan said that Miles started screaming and crying after the prospect informed him during an official visit last weekend that he would be committing to the Tigers.

” I just said, ‘Coach, I want to go ahead and shake your hand and tell you I’m going to go ahead and commit,’” Brennan said. “At that time, he just started screaming and tears started coming out of his eyes. He gave me a big ol’ hug. My parents started tearing up and crying because they didn’t know it was coming.”

It’s no wonder that Miles would react in such a way, as the Tigers’ quarterbacking situation has been a sorry scene since former star Zach Mettenberger was drafted. Neither Brandon Harris nor Anthony Jennings (who will transfer) have inspired much hope in the passing game, so adding someone as significant as Brennan could prove to be the turnaround LSU needs.

He won’t suit up until the 2017 season, so the Tigers still have 2016 to worry about, but Miles’ happiness over Brennan committing could definitely be indicative of how strong a prospect Brennan is.
