Michigan confirms departure of two football players

The Michigan Wolverines are trying to focus on being contenders in the Big Ten for the 2016 season, but it looks like they have something else to deal with. While football practice at IMG Academy in Florida just opened up for them today, the team has confirmed the departure of two players.

Rising seniors wide receiver Da’Mario Jones and offensive lineman Blake Bars have both been confirmed to have left the team. This confirmation comes after they were both left off the roster for spring practices.

No word on if they are pursuing graduate transfers to finish their careers elsewhere is available at this time. Luckily, both players played a minimal role for the Wolverines’ offense.

Jones played in just five games last year and caught one pass for two yards. Bars has only played in eight games since joining the program in 2012 and has served primarily as a backup.

Both players would be eligible to play immediately if they were to graduate and transfer to another school.
