Myles Jack ‘not out of the woods yet’ regarding medicals

Former UCLA linebacker and soon-to-be first-round NFL Draft pick Myles Jack impressed a lot of people at the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis last week despite missing most of 2015 with a torn meniscus, but not all NFL teams are ready to dive head first into the idea of drafting him.

According to Dane Brugler of CBS Sports, an NFL source has said that Jack is “not yet out of the woods” in terms of his knee.

It appears that Jack’s knee is still a concern, which is arguably strange. Sure, he only played in three games last season, but he still just tore his meniscus. Though a serious injury, it isn’t quite in the same league as that of a torn ACL, MCL or LCL. Notre Dame linebacker Jaylon Smith tore knee ligaments at the end of last season, and he has slipped down draft boards as a result.

Jack, on the other hand, appears to be rocketing up them, so it’s unclear as to why some teams are being skittish about his injury history when his skills are off the charts.
