Nevada lands transfers Kendall Stephens, Hallice Cooke

The Nevada Wolf Pack have not made the NCAA Tournament since 2007 and they are looking to turn their luck around going into the 2016-17 season. Second-year head coach Eric Musselman is doing a good job building the roster by bringing in transfers Kendall Stephens and Hallice Cooke.

The team announced the addition of the two players, both of whom come in from Power Five conference schools, on Wednesday.

Stephens was considered to be Purdue’s best shooter at the beginning of last season, but he never made a good comeback after the death of his friend in the middle of the season. Cooke played just 10 minutes per game with Iowa State last season after taking a redshirt in the 2014-15 season following a transfer from Oregon State.

As a freshman with the Beavers, Cooke averaged 8.2 points and shot 45.6 percent from three.

Kendall Stephens, who averaged a career-low 6.2 points and shot just 31 percent from three, and Cooke will both sit out the 2016-17 season due to NCAA transfer rules. They will both have one season of eligibility remaining in 2017.
