NFL scout: Robert Nkemdiche is ‘strange’

One of the most polarizing names in the 2016 NFL Draft is former Ole Miss defensive tackle Robert Nkemdiche. Once a potential No. 1 overall pick, there is now discussion that Nkemdiche could fall out of the first round altogether.

One reason why Nkemdiche has experienced this fall is because of his off-field troubles near the end of the 2015 season. He was suspended for the Rebels’ Sugar Bowl game after he was charged with marijuana possession in a hotel room in Atlanta.

An NFL scout talked about how Nkemdiche has so much talent, but it is really hard to put a grade on him. He even went so far as to use the word “strange” when describing Nkedmiche and the aura that surrounds him.

“He’s really a different kid,” the scout said. “He’s strange strange. He’s got as much ability as anybody, if not more. But just very strange.”

It is odd to think that a scout is describing Nkemdiche like this. It makes fans wonder how many other teams think the same way as this scout does. The scout was right about one thing: Robert Nkemdiche has a ton of talent. He recorded 81 tackles, 16 for loss, and six sacks over his career in Oxford.

Those numbers do not stand out as overwhelming figures, but that does not mean he will not have a great career at the next level. He has all the right tools to be a great player in the NFL, he just has to clear up some of his image issues for teams to want to take him.
