Nick Saban throws his support behind bill to help prevent youth suicide

Just when you were beginning to think Nick Saban had made a deal with the devil (he has been WINNING! lately), he helps introduce a bill that helps thousands of young people in the state of Alabama.

The Crimson Tide head coach is helping gather support for The Jason Flatt Act, which would require all Alabama educators to complete at least two hours of related suicide awareness training each year.

According to JasonFoundation.com, 16 states have already adopted the bill, and 247Sports.com‘s Charlie Potter reports that former Tennessee coach Philip Fulmer and current Miami coach Mark Richt along with Nick Saban are ambassadors for the foundation.

Saban has known has known the Flatt Act’s creator, Clark Flatt, for 15 years.

“I’m here today to help the young people,” Saban said (via Potter). “This is not a political thing for me, aight? This is all about how can we help our youth have a better opportunity with our help and assistance that we could see warning signs of something that is very, very preventable.”
