Providence’s Ben Bentil to stay in NBA Draft

NBA Draft hopefuls have until June 13 to withdraw their name from the draft and return to school for the 2016-17 season. Providence forward Ben Bentil will not be one of those players as he will stay in the draft this year.

Bentil knows that he has done just about all he can at Providence and he wants to take his chances in the NBA. He also seemed to like the feedback he received at the NBA Combine just a few weeks ago.

“I am the man I am today because of the opportunity Providence College gave me,” Bentil wrote in the post. “As l look forward to the next chapter of my life, I’ll always remain a Friar because once a Friar, always a Friar.”

Right now, Bentil is projected as a late first-round or early second-round selection in the draft. He and teammate Kris Dunn could make a huge impact in the NBA going forward.

During his sophomore season, Ben Bentil led the Big East in scoring with 21.1 points per game. The power forward also added 7.7 rebounds per game during the season as well.
