Report: Miami Dolphins not high on Vernon Hargreaves III

The Miami Dolphins are in need of help in the defensive backfield and many believe Florida Gators star Vernon Hargreaves III could be making the move south from Gainesville, but that may not be the case.

Per Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald, “Miami’s preference is a big, physical boundary corner.”

When describing the Dolphins’ opinion of Hargreaves, Jackson noted the team believed the Florida product is “undersized” and “a nickel back.” That has been a common criticism as the draft approaches.

Of course, this could all be a smokescreen with the draft just a week away.

If the Dolphins ultimately decide against making Hargreaves their first-round selection, perhaps they could look to another corner, Houston’s William Jackson III. If the team goes in another direction, a pass rusher could be in the cards.
