Seton Hall’s Isaiah Whitehead is Big East Player of the Week

Seton Hall sophomore guard Isaiah Whitehead is the Big East Player of the Week, according to the Asbury Park Press.

Whitehead, the Pirates’ leading scorer, averaged 20.5 points and 4.5 assists per game last week as Seton Hall knocked off St. John’s and Creighton with relative ease. Whitehead also shot 49.5 percent from the field and 55.5 percent from three-point land.

And even better is that Whitehead’s strong performances improved Seton Hall to 15-6 (5-4 Big East) on the season and three games out of the top spot in the Big East. With Marquette and Georgetown next on the docket for the Pirates, winning another two games in a week could set them up for a return to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2006.
