Texas DL coach Brick Haley turns down A&M, staying with Longhorns

To say that the Texas Longhorns have had a tough time keeping assistant coaches around this offseason would be an understatement. They have either relieved the coaches of their duties or they just left to take another job elsewhere.

It looks like they won’t be losing their defensive line coach after there were reports Brick Haley would be leaving for rival Texas A&M. Chip Brown of Horns Digest reported that Haley turned that job down and would be staying in Austin.

This may be the best thing for the Longhorns, but they may also look at the other coaches leaving as a blessing too. There have been reports for a while that there was dissension in the ranks all season long and now it seems a lot of the bad blood is gone.

Haley came to Texas in 2015 after spending six seasons coaching the defensive line at LSU.
