Victor Cruz ‘100 percent,’ eyeing 2016 return

New York Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz has had a pretty rough road the last few years as he has not seen the football field since October 2014 due to calf and knee injuries. While General Manager Jerry Reese views anything the team gets from Cruz a “bonus”, the wide receiver seems pretty confident in his ability to play this year.

Cruz spoke at a children’s health screening seminar earlier this week and he talked about him feeling as good as he has ever felt. He even went so far as to say that feels almost completely healthy and will use OTAs as a time to improve before the season.

I’m feeling great. Workouts have been going amazing. Each day, it gets better and better,” Cruz said, via NJ.com. “I’m excited to continue to train, continue that pattern, and see where it takes me. … I’m 100 percent. I feel good. No injuries, no ailments, nothing hurts, no pain.”

Victor Cruz came into the league in 2010 and saw the bulk of his success from 2011-2013. He recorded 3,626 yards and 23 touchdowns in that three-year stretch.

If he is able to come back this year and pair up with Odell Beckham Jr., that could mean a lot of trouble for the rest of the NFC going forward.
