Video: Kenny Chesney tell funny story about Bobby Bowden

Former Florida State head coach Bobby Bowden is not only one of the most legendary coaches in college football history, but he is one of the most humorous as well. This is evidenced by a story country music star Kenny Chesney told on ESPN’s “Mike and Mike in the Morning” on Friday.

Chesney talked about how he had played a show at Florida State, when Bowden invited him to one of their spring practices. However, the singer didn’t just want to attend, he wanted to actually take part in the practice.

So, Bowden let him do just that, but gave his team some very specific instructions before the practice started.

Maybe this is one big reason why Bobby Bowden, arguably one of the greatest college football coaches ever, is so dearly missed today. Of course, his successor, Jimbo Fisher, is doing a great job with the Seminoles, but it doesn’t mean we wouldn’t love to see Bowden back on the sidelines just one more time.
