Video: Ohio State player slaps floor, lets player run past him

A lot of times, a basketball player will try to motivate himself by slapping the hardwood floor. One Ohio State player found out that it doesn’t always work as he was defending a Nebraska player on Saturday.

Jae’Sean Tate was defending Cornhusker guard Tai Webster, who was dribbling the ball near the lane. Tate slapped the court to try and intimidate Webster, who took the opportunity to blow by his defender towards the basket for an embarrassing exchange.

Fortunately for Tate and the Buckeyes, his team ended up winning the game, 65-62 to keep their NCAA Tournament hopes alive. Maybe he learned not to do this anymore.

Let’s hope that in the future Tate will not make a big mistake like this. It could end up costing his team more than two points.
