Video: Shaq gets inside ‘Counter Strike’ to promote eSports team

Basketball legend and NBA analyst Shaquille O’Neal is the latest sports star to get into the world of eSports when he bought NRG along with New York Yankees star Alex Rodriguez. He wanted to promote his team competing in an upcoming tournament and he did so with a hilarious video.

Shaq decided to photoshop himself into a video featuring gameplay of the popular PC game “Counter Strike,” one of the two games his team plays competitively.

The team will compete in the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive ELEAGUE on May 24, which will be televised on TBS.

The fact that Shaq claimed to have “a Ph,D in CS:GO” is laughable enough, but he certainly seems to be interested in getting involved with his new business venture.

Of course, his acting skills have not gotten any better since his box office flop “Kazaam.”

Let us all just hope that this journey into the realm of video games goes much better than his last: “Shaq Fu.”
