Wazzu CB Calvin Green arrested on two charges, including hit-and-run

Washington State cornerback Calvin Green has been arrested on charges of hit-and-run and second degree reckless endangerment following an incident early Sunday Morning, according to the student newspaper The Daily EvergreenThe Moscow-Pullman Daily News that Green was also charged with driving without a license and the Evergreen reported that alcohol may have been a factor as well, so more charges could be forthcoming.

The incident stems from a 22-year-old Pullman woman alleging to local police that Green hit her parked car, then fled the scene while she chased after him on foot in hopes of confronting him. Green parked in a nearby alley, only to nearly run the woman over when he tried to escape again. Cougars coach Mike Leach is aware of the situation, per a university official, but has yet to comment.

A former three-star recruit from Sacramento, Green arrived at Washington State as a receiver and caught 13 passes for 68 yards as a true freshman before shifting to cornerback. Green appeared in five games at that position last year and registered seven tackles.

This story is still very much developing, but Green is likely looking at a suspension from the football team if not an outright dismissal. It may seem harsh, but Leach is one to hold his players accountable and Green will not be an exception.
