Veterans Classic Field is set: UNC, Florida, Temple, Navy

The beginning of the College Hoops season always begins on the Friday of Veterans Day weekend and for the second straight season the Veterans Classic will be the home for basketball junkies.

Last season Michigan State, VCU, Tennessee and the host, Navy, were featured but this year it will be even better as potential preseason top-5 North Carolina, Florida and Temple will compete at the Naval Academy.

The games will be played on Friday, November 13th with UNC and Temple tipping off at 7 p.m. ET on CBS Sports Network followed by Florida and Navy.

“It’s a tremendous honor for Carolina basketball to visit the Naval Academy and play in an event that pays tribute to the brave men and women who safeguard our country,” North Carolina head coach Roy Williams said in a statement that CBS Sports received.

“This event is a unique opportunity for our team not just on the court, but it’s a chance for our guys to interact with people their age who are leading a really special way of life in service of our country,” Billy Donovan said in a statement.

With stars like Marcus Paige, Brice Johnson, Dorian Finney-Smith and Kasey Hill in action, be prepared for a great night in hoops to kick of the 2015-16 college basketball season.
