As the college football season gets ready to move into Week 5, there is no question that there are games that will decide the future for quite a few different teams. Key games are becoming normal on the schedule and are going to continue rising in significance starting this week.
It is going to be a very entertaining week and there is no room for teams to make mistakes in the key games this week.
There are five games in particular that fans should be looking out for this weekend.
Obviously there are more than five games that will be crucial for a variety of reasons, but there are five games that carry more meaning than the rest. If you’re looking for games to watch this weekend, this list will give you the best action available.
Let’s take a look at the five must see college football games of Week 5.
No. 25 Florida Gators vs. No. 3 Ole Miss Rebels
One of the most intriguing games of the week is a huge SEC matchup that will give the Florida Gators a chance to make a huge statement and rise in the rankings from No. 25.
Ole Miss certainly appears to be a legitimate championship caliber team and they are looking to prove that fact once again.
It should be a very entertaining game that will show off exactly why the SEC is considered the best conference.
No. 14 Texas A&M Aggies vs. No. 21 Mississippi State Bulldogs
Dak Prescott and the Mississippi State Bulldogs are in for a tough contest against a dynamic Texas A&M offense.
The Bulldogs would take a huge leap in the rankings if they are able to pull off a win, but that is going to be much easier said than done.
Kevin Sumlin’s team has a stacked offense and defense and there aren’t many teams that will be able to figure out how to defeat them.
No. 15 Oklahoma Sooners vs. No. 23 West Virginia Mountaineers
Baker Mayfield and Skyler Howard are two of the more impressive quarterbacks in the nation and are set to face off this Saturday afternoon.
West Virginia and Oklahoma have a long-term rivalry that has been bitter from the beginning.
Both of these teams have a lot on the line this week and they both need to play a near perfect game to come away with a big win.
No. 12 Clemson Tigers vs. No. 6 Notre Dame Fighting Irish
Deshaun Watson is heading into a key game this week with a chance for Clemson to rise in the rankings.
Notre Dame has been riding senior running back C.J. Prosise since quarterback Malik Zaire went down for the season with a broken ankle.
Either of these teams could take the win, but it will be a hard-fought game all the way to the end.
No. 8 Georgia Bulldogs vs. No. 13 Alabama Crimson Tide
Nick Chubb and Derrick Henry are two of the top running backs in the nation and are getting set to go up against each other this coming week in SEC action.
If the Crimson Tide fall against Georgia, they likely won’t have much of a chance to make a comeback to the college football playoff.
This could very well be the best game of the week and shouldn’t be missed by a diehard fan.
