Gatorade is the most popular sports energy drink of all time. It is purchased and consumed by many athletes across the world on a daily basis.
If you didn’t know, Gatorade was created by two University of Florida scientists to help replenish the football team’s electrolytes while performing in the hot Gainesville sun. This drink was created and marketed fifty years ago.
The Florida Gators will be using special bottles this weekend to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Gatorade. ESPN’s Darren Rovell shared a picture of the cool bottles via Twitter.

Those are pretty freaking cool. I assume that the Gators love to drink orange Gatorade for two reasons: 1. That is one of their main colors and 2. Orange is the original flavor of Gatorade.
The Gators will need to drink a ton of Gatorade this weekend as they welcome in the Ole Miss Rebels.
