The Cal Golden Bears lost a big piece of their offense a few weeks ago when running back Daniel Lasco went down with a hip muscle strain. He has missed the last few games, but it seems as though Lasco will be available to their high-powered offense for their Week 5 matchup.
They will certainly need all their offensive weapons as they take on another high-powered offense in the Washington State Cougars. According to College Football Talk, Cal head coach Sonny Dykes said that Lasco practiced all week and the decision to play is up to him.
“Lasco’s good. He practiced all week. I would expect him to play unless he doesn’t feel good,” Dykes said. “We’ll warm him up and see how he feels. He’s felt good all week.”
In 2014, Lasco led the Golden Bears with 1,115 yards on the ground. He went for only 14 yards in the season opener against Grambling State, but he turned things around and went for 123 against San Diego State in Week 2.
The game between the Golden Bears and Cougars kicks off at 4 p.m. today and will be televised on PAC-12 Network.
