Florida QB Will Grier won’t miss Week 5 due to the flu

The Florida Gators are heading into a huge Week 5 game against the Ole Miss Rebels and are looking to make a move at leaping up the rankings. Will Grier is dealing with the flu, which could impact his availability for the game. He is going to need a huge performance if the Gators want to have any chance of knocking off the No. 3 team in the nation.

According to Grier’s dad, there is no way the talented quarterback will miss time with the flu and certainly won’t miss a game this big.

Grier has put together a solid season to this point, completing 62.6 percent of his passes for 725 yards, six touchdowns and three interceptions. He has plenty of room to continue improving as well and there is nothing holding him back from being one of the best freshman quarterbacks in the nation.

Florida has to feel very good about their future with Grier under center. He has plenty more potential to grow into and there isn’t much doubt that he will reach his full potential. Grier has an impressive work ethic and it’s obvious that he doesn’t take anything that he earns for granted.

That being said, it will be interesting to see how he’s able to play this week due to the flu that he is dealing with.

It isn’t easy to have a weakened body due to sickness and get out on the field to play an SEC rivalry game. His head has to be sharp and he has to figure out how to make the necessary throws to his wide receivers. Don’t be surprised if he struggles right off the beat, but is able to rebound and come through with a very solid all-around game when everything is said and done.
