Marshawn Lynch unlikely to play on Monday

The two-time defending NFC champion Seattle Seahawks got their first win against the Chicago Bears last Sunday. The team was without star running back Marshawn Lynch for most of the game as he was dealing with a calf injury.

The Seahawks next play on Monday as they take on the Detroit Lions in a showdown of 1-2 teams. It was reported by Pro Football Talk that Lynch is unlikely to play in that game.

Current estimate for Marshawn Lynch on Monday night, per source: 60-40 not playing.

The injury has hindered Lynch for most of the season as he has only gone for 128 yards and no touchdowns in three games this season. Quarterback Russell Wilson has been the team’s leading rusher with 137 yards with the second leading-rushing running back being Thomas Rawls.

Rawls and Fred Jackson will likely split the running responsibilities if Lynch is unable to go. Follow Campus Sports for the latest injury news for the Seahawks.
