The most heartbreaking story in college football this week is certainly the one of Southern wide receiver Devon Gales. He was injured in a scary scene last week against Georgia and since then has been rehabbing in Atlanta from career-threatening injury.
The Bulldogs have done all they could to Gales and his family by flying his parents out from Louisiana and starting a fund to help support him. Another SEC team is now sending their support for the wide receiver.
College Spun shared a photo from last night’s LSU/Eastern Michigan game where a group of fans painted their bodies to say “Pray for Devon 33.” It was a truly emotional sight to behold.
This is really a nice gesture by the Tiger fan base. Southern University and LSU share a city as they are located in Baton Rogue.
I’m sure this made Gales smile from his hospital bed in Atlanta. He grew up in Baton Rogue, so he was probably a Tiger fan growing up.
