Georgia LB Reggie Carter out for the season

The Georgia Bulldogs lost more than their game against Alabama last weekend. Per Jake Rowe of 247 Sports, linebacker Reggie Carter suffered a shoulder injury and will miss the rest of the 2015 season.

This is a tough blow for a Georgia defense that had trouble slowing down the Crimson Tide, essentially looking like Swiss cheese more often than not. Carter, a former three-star recruit from the Atlanta area, has posted 39 tackles and a sack since arriving in Athens in 2013.

In his absence, UAB transfer Jake Ganus will likely assume his spot.

Needless to say, if Georgia had any hope of rebounding from this loss and fighting its way to the SEC title game, the loss of Carter makes that an extreme uphill battle.

Georgia pays a visit to Knoxville on Saturday to play the Tennessee Volunteers. Kickoff is slated for 3:30 p.m. ET.
